What Now?

It has been two weeks since completing my first half marathon. It feels like forever ago that I did that and honestly still feels surreal.

It has been a slower pace of life since being on a training plan and the rest has been nice. I have been able to work out and still just have allowed my body to rest and recover. With combinations of weight training and cardio - my body has still been put to work, just in various forms.

When I started training I may have mentioned that running has never been out of my vocabulary, I just go on and off of doing it. I ran cross country and track when I was in middle school as well as played soccer for 15 years of my life. Needless to say, running is something my body has always naturally done.

This does not make me a runner by any means but it does make it easier for my body to accomplish goals, like a half marathon. But again, because I am not a runner that means I allow myself breaks from running. Thankfully during this break, I have stayed active because if I had not, I would've been running days after the half.

However, I will say it is weird not having a scheduled workout routine as well as something I can look forward to during the day. I sometimes get lazy and allow my body to not move as much as it should because I do not have a goal I am working towards.

The other day, someone told me to not lose being in running shape. Basically saying it is an accomplishment and a fitness 'thing' to always be able to run a 10K (which is about 6 miles). This may be something I work on and continue running for. That is less than a half and is not an absolutely unbearable amount. So I guess, for now, I'll just say we shall see!

I am going on my first run this week since the race and will update you guys on how that goes! For now, have a great week!

(I tried uploading a picture but it would not work!)
